Major step change in confidence over the last few days. Stopped at a local pub yesterday – actually went inside for a pint and ended up staying for nearly two hours – 7 new hoomans. 2 new pooches – no issues.
Walk home last night – met new hooman and a huge fluffy pooch. Stood talking for 15 minutes – minimal reactivity.
Off lead today at lunch time in a non totally secure area – close monitoring of oncoming hoomans, cars and pooches – Marcus stayed close and recall good.
Walk tonight to same area – off lead again – close monitoring but no issues. Same pub tonight – lots more hoomans – no issues. Settled easily and quickly.
Whether its growing up, trust, loyalty or confidence – doesn’t matter – it’s starting to show huge benefits. Especially when other people are commenting on the change.
It’s not always easy , sometimes it’s bloody hard work but in 4 months we have made huge steps forward together. And it’s all been done at his speed without me forcing him.
Take a nervous / reactive pooch and invest time and effort …. It will work!
