So as a follow on from yesterdays post:
Lunch time walk – the non secure area – met one of the small dogs from Saturday again. Off lead for a bit of playing – well more like trying to steal other pooches ball but it didn’t work!
Same thing tonight but this time Marcus had his own ball. Both dogs wanted two balls so that was a good game. Met another dog who just totally ignored him.
Ended up in pub for a pint on the way home. The huge fluffy pooch from the street meeting on Monday night was there. Minimal reactions at the start – none at the end – Marcus got tired and I know the signs so no issues.
Am I getting complacent – no! Will he be off lead when I’m not totally confident it’s safe – no! Am I seriously happy and proud – yes!
Just shows – time, patience and love does work.
Edit : I am planning a “dad and marcus doing nothing just stay at home day with a run in secure field” this weekend to give his system a chance to take it all in and not start any excitement / stress stacking building up. Keeping the emotions bucket at a sensible level without overflowing.
