17 months ago a very nervous, reactive, excitable, unconfident furbaby of a pooch was handed to me off of the happy bus from Romania. He was 5 months old and had been found abandoned in a roadside ditch in a plastic bag at approx 2 months old.
It’s been an emotional rollercoaster what with one thing and another going on in my life, but we have both been each others ‘constant’ companion and have got through so much together. When I had bad days – he was the reason I got through them. [If you know then you know!]
He turned out to be the catalyst and the reason behind some life changing positive changes I decided to make.
He’s not perfect by any means, but he’s happy and enjoys a good life. I never wanted a perfect pooch, I wanted a happy pooch that was still free to be a pooch and behave like a pooch. He’s not a posh pedigree – he’s a pure street dog that now doesn’t have to worry about being warm, safe and fed. Taking a street dog on is very different to a domesticated dog!
Today was an exceptionally great day as we smashed the Kennel Club Good Citizen GOLD award.
I couldn’t be prouder and happier.
Team Marcus and Dad kick arse – again!
