Some people should just NOT be allowed to have dogs (or even breathe fresh air!)

Walking back home last night in our little residential close. About 50 yards away from a house and the front door opens and out comes a golden Labrador completely off lead. He sees me and Marcus and comes charging at us – running straight into Marcus.

Marcus starts howling and barking and I grab him with both arms and lift him up high out of harm. He’s kicking and howling (for obvious reasons) but at least he’s safe. I have no worries that he would intentionally hurt me so that never crosses my mind.

The owner of this other dog comes out and starts screaming and shouting at his dog who finally goes inside. Not one word from him to me!

3 neighbours hear the noise and come out. Thankfully all caught on a neighbours CCTV who just happens to be a police officer. It also turns out the dog owner often lets his dog completely off lead – the neighbour (police officer) freely admitted they won’t let their kids walk their dog just incase anything similar happened to them.

Whilst I don’t think the offending dog was dangerous, I whole heartedly think the owner needs serious lessons in being a dog owner.

I for one never ever open the door unless Marcus is on a lead or in a closed room. Never !

I fully intend to let this run it’s natural course and am awaiting the police to visit etc. I just hope the poor dog didn’t get beaten or told off badly behind closed doors.

Thankfully Marcus can be lifted high and carried away when needed.

Marcus needless to say just slept in the evening with no cares in the world. He knows I’ve got his back!

Photo this morning as I’m writing this – hard life he has!

Some people should just not be trusted !
