Just a little story to show how acute and sensitive our pooches are….

Normal start to the day today, nothing out of the ordinary. I’m outside in the back garden and one of the ring circuit fuses trips in the main circuit board – I go and reset it and alls well.

I have to be in town for something in the morning and had decided to leave Marcus at home. I go to get ready and Marcus is standing in the back garden physically shaking. I manage to get him in the house and close the back door. He is standing against it still shaking. I have never seen him like this!

Not knowing what’s wrong but knowing my pooch well I know something is wrong so I go grab his lead and his fear just vanishes as he makes a beeline out the side door and into the car. Weird!

As we are out and about, I get notification that the fuse box has tripped again (via the house alarm). Do what needs doing in town and head home.

Everything plugged into a socket on that ring main gets turned off – except the fridge freezer and kettle. Circuit fuse reset again. Marcus not happy staying in the kitchen so I let him go upstairs – he starts to calm down but still not sure on downstairs.  I do stuff upstairs and then go downstairs – he comes with me.

After a while the fuse goes again and the fridge / freezer decides to make a loud bang. Poor Marcus is back to his frightened state – I stick him in the back of the car whilst I try and fathom out what’s up – the fridge / freezer is still on (light and display work) so my head is confused! We go round a few loops but eventually work out the compressor in the fridge / freezer is at fault. These things kick in when the temperature needs regulating.  Even though the lights and display worked – the guts of the fridge / freezer were dead!

Whether there was a noise coming from it or a smell – it was something that was only in the range of his senses as it explains his complete panic mode this morning. Fridge / freezer now unplugged from socket ; Marcus now chilled again and catching up on his missing sleep this morning.

The boy is clever wuuufffssss
