Rescue and Romanian Dogs in General

The more “pure” dog – is how I would describe a Romanian Rescue (aka “rommie”). With less exposure to the domesticated life that a typical British born dog has – creature comforts, training, care etc – there is a sense of feeling that rommies are that bit closer in trait and character to the wild wolves / pack dogs from years gone.

They are very streetwise; very quick to learn (but also quick to pick up on keeping doing the wrong thing) if it’s gets them what they want and they just seem to be a bit more astute about life.

Rescue dogs are not full of problems or have issues – they aren’t broken, stupid or damaged. They just need time, patience and love.

Like humans; if you create a monster out of a person by mistreating them, beating, torture, cruelty and just general neglect – don’t be surprised if one day that human snaps at or goes for you. Dogs are sentient beings – they have souls and feelings – they are not toys to be thrown away. The dog’s character is made up of it’s genetics and DNA as well as the environment it is bought up in and currently lives in.
